Flowing into a new guiding season ...
The past few months have literally flown by as Dixie and our Polar Experience team have been occupied with a wide variety of off-season activities. Dixie in particular has been quietly working on his latest publication, Snowkiting - Freedom of Flow. There will be a book launch and signing event together with the book's collaborator Eric Bonnem of Expeditions Unlimited and our publisher Philip Van Bost of Snoeck here in Brussels on Thursday, 21 November 2019 at Le Circle des Voyageurs. If you would like to attend, please confirm your presence via this link.
Our new guiding season kicks off on November 25th when Dixie will begin his travels south to Antarctica via Cape Town, South Africa. He will be in the blessed company of three very impressive women who will be exploring Queen Maud Land for the first time. This expedition is being organised together with our valued partners at Expeditions Unlimited and White Desert and is scheduled to conclude by the third week of December, just in time to bring everyone home for the holidays.
Today, Dixie enjoyed one of his final Belgian training sessions during a cold traditional Sunday morning bike ride.
His equipment is packed, his energy is high, and he's impatient to replace the recent light Northern European frost with deep Antarctic snows.
From now until our season wraps in June 2020, Dixie and our team of guides will criss-cross the globe with guided adventures in Svalbard, Antarctica, Greenland, the North Pole, Russia's Lake Baikal, and several other locations. Our blog will cover their activities and share the unique anecdotes of their teams as they discover both inner and outer landscapes together.
Let the season begin!
