ACT Greenland - Canoe Centre

Brecht and our Greenland team progressed 20 kilometres late yesterday to reach a second shelter called Canoe Centre. It was a bittersweet celebration of remarkable progress as the day began with a deep disappointment. Christopher, Guillaume and Arnold were forced to bid farewell to their teammate Guy who was struggling with early signs of frostbite on two of his fingers. Guy made the wise but difficult choice to return to Kangerlussuaq where he had a medical examination and was immediately released to return home. We wish Guy well and are sorry to see him go.

Canoe Centre provided basic but extremely welcome lodging for our team to rest after their evening push. It is also a large shelter with room to dry and reorganise equipment, something deeply appreciated during a lengthy expedition.

Spirits are high among the group and each participant is filled with determined energy to get back out on the trail.
